Before forming ARK, the leadership of ARK spent the last 20 years as design leaders at large architectural offices in New York City. Their global expertise is wide ranging including large scale master planning, educational, mixed use, and retail buildings. They have designed buildings at all scales from a two story school to a 88 story tower.
This breadth of experience informs their approach to architecture, collaborating with clients and consultants, and satisfying the requirements of the diverse building typologies they design.

PARTNER AND FOUNDER
ROGER KLEIN, AIA
As Design Principal at ARK, Roger collaborates with his colleagues on the design of educational, commercial and master plan projects within the Princeton and Istanbul studios.

His portfolio includes an impressive collection of commercial and higher education projects including Ozyegin University in Istanbul, Haumao Center in Beijing, the 88 story Eurasia Tower in Moscow, Furman Hall at New York University’s School of Law, and the award-winning Faculty of Architecture and Design at Ozyegin University won the Design Award of Honor in 2021 from the Society of American Architects. His campus for Al-Asmariya University in Libya won the 2012 Islamic Architecture award at the Cityscape Awards in Dubai.

Previously an Associate Principal at Kohn Pedersen Fox and Design Principal at Swanke Hayden Connell Architects and RMJM, Roger was profiled as one of Building Design + Construction’s “40 Under 40” influential individuals.

BULENT GUNGOR
As Principal, Bulent oversees the Istanbul Studio and collaborates with his colleagues at ARK on the design of Educational and Commercial projects within Turkey and the Region.
Bulent and Roger Klein have been working collaboratively for the last 12 years in the design and construction of Ozyegin University in Istanbul. They have already completed 11 buildings together and continue to oversee the design of additional buildings at OzU.
Bulent has been designing projects in Turkey and abroad since 1986. His portfolio has a wide range of project types from retail shops to offices, residences, shopping malls, campuses and touristic buildings such as hotels, casinos and holiday resorts.

CAN DAGARSLANI
Can is a Senior Design Architect and collaborates with his colleagues at ARK on the design of Hotel, Residential, Educational and Commercial projects within Turkey and the US.
Can and Roger Klein have been working collaboratively for the last 12 years in the design and construction of Ozyegin University in Istanbul. They have already completed 11 buildings together and continue to oversee the design of additional buildings at OzU and commercial/residential projects within Istanbul.
SENIOR DESIGNER AND GRAPHICS LEADER
CHRIS SHUSTA
Chris is a LEED accredited designer working as Lead Graphics Consultant at ARK. He received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Virginia and a Master of Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
Chris was the recipient of the 2010 Rotch Traveling Scholarship, conducting architectural research across fourteen countries. He has previously worked at RMJM, KPF, and Ennead Architects. Chris has an extensive background in 3D graphics and animation, including teaching experience at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
